Pregnant Florida Woman Charged With Drunk Driving

34-year-old Digna Love, a pregnant Florida woman dropping her five-year-old daughter at school, was taken into custody and charged for driving under the influence after police found she had a BAC level 4 times the legal limit.

On 5th of November, she was stopped in a parking lot in Jupiter, Florida, at around 8.15 am by police responding to a report of reckless driving.

According to the police, Love’s eyes were glassy, her speech was slurred and her breath smelt of alcohol.

Love took a volunteer BAC level test and the result showed levels of .363 and .360 which are above the legal limit of driving allowed to get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

A report by CBS 12 showed that she was charged with child neglect and driving under the influence accompanied by a person under 18.

Love, who told officials that she was six weeks pregnant, said that she had begun drinking before leaving her house because she was sad.

The incident happened just weeks after a video of a Florida man went viral in which he told step-by-step instructions on how to avoid a DUI arrest and outraged viewers.

The video was posted by the man on New Year’s Day which is one of the most dangerous days for driving under the influence of alcohol, showed a Levy County, Florida man preparing to enter a DUI checkpoint by putting his license, insurance and a flyer in a plastic bag. The flyer detailed the driver’s rights and had the following words written on it: “I remain silent, no searches, I want my lawyer”.

As the man pulled up to the DUI checkpoint, an officer read the flyer and sent the driver on his way.
