Drunk Driver Hits South Florida Road Ranger In I-95

MIAMI – A Road Ranger is recovering after he was struck by a driver who was driving under the influence on Interstate 95, said FHP.

The accident occurred on Sunday in the northbound lanes of I-95 in Miami.

It was told to the Miami Herald by Spokesman Joe Sanchez that the troopers were in the area handling several crashes due to bad weather when the ranger was injured. He is a member of the crews that offer free roadside help on South Florida highways and was helping troopers when he was hit.

Sanchez said that the driver was taken into custody and charged with DUI.

The ranger was taken to Ryder Trauma Center.
