3 Arrested After Florida Crime Spree That Left 2 Dead

3 men were taken in custody and one suspect remained at large on Friday morning following a crime spree in central Florida due to which a 72-year-old woman and her daughter died.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect at large is dangerous. Sheriff Grady Judd alerted residents living there to stay in their homes for safety purposes, during a late-night news conference. He said law enforcement officers will be knocking on doors in the area to check on residents and encouraged them to call 911 if they see or observe any suspicious activity.

Judd added, “Don’t start shooting through your front door. That wouldn’t be good”.

On Thursday, the incident started with a robbery at an Auburndale pawn shop. According to a witness, 3 men wearing hoodies robbed the store while one man waited outside in a red GMC Jimmy.

An officer in nearby Haines City saw the motor vehicle and tried to stop it. Judd told that the officer was chasing when the suspects began firing at his patrol car from their SUV. The officer didn’t sustain any injury in the incident.

The vehicle eventually became stuck in some sand and all 4 individuals ran on foot from the location where the vehicle was stuck. Authorities took 22-year-old Devonere “Devon” McCune into custody when he was bitten by a Sheriff’s Office K-9 dog.

After a short time, a person living there informed the police about suspicious activity at a neighbor’s house as a result of which the police approached.

Authorities surrounded the house for investigation when a blue car came barreling out of the garage straight at them. Judd said officers shot “many times.” The vehicle went a short distance away before it got stuck in sand. 34-year-old Michael Gordon was the only individual in the motor vehicle and was taken into custody. He suffered gunshot wounds and bites from a K-9 dog but the injuries were not serious.

Officers found the bodies of 72-year-old Patricia Moran and 51-year-old Deborah Royal inside the house.

On Friday morning, authorities took 29-year-old Jovan Lamb into custody. All 3 men who have been taken into custody face multiple charges.

The incident is still under investigation and the authorities are searching for the remaining suspect who was identified by Judd as 29-year-old Terrell Williams of Haines City.
